About the Event
Idin Samimi Mofakham’s music is deeply based on the traditional music of his native Iran. Since 2015, as a composer he has developed his own musical language based on medieval Persian tuning systems, just intonation and psychoacoustics.
A string quartet from the Oslo Sinfonietta and percussionist Ane Marthe Sørlien Holen perform the following works of Samimi Mofakham:
Chrystallum (string quartet and electronics)
Mirage (string trio and percussion)
4C2 (solo percussion)
The music of Iranian composer/performer, Idin Samimi Mofakham (*1982) is deeply based on the traditional and regional music of his home country. Since 2015, He develops his own musical language based on the medieval Persian tuning systems, just intonation and Psychoacoustics. Idin holds a PhD in Artistic Research position at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo (Norway), pursuing his research on Persian medieval tuning systems and its creative usage in contemporary composition.
